The 2019 Lunar New Year Celebrations at Disneyland’s California Adventure Park are in full swing! If you’re headed to the parks by February 17th, make sure you swoop up a Sip & Savor Pass for $39 and Annual Passholder discounts work for this as well.

Similar to my advice for the Disneyland Festival of Holidays, you will want to make sure that if you purchase this pass you stick to purchasing items that are $6.70 and up! If you spent them on a bunch of items that were less than that you would be wasting your money, and we certainly don’t want that.

For starters, I have to let you guys know the sacrifices I went through to document these eats for you! The day we went to Disneyland it was cold, with off and on rain and wind. As silly as it sounds it was probably my most challenging time as a food blogger due to these conditions and all of the Lunar New Year kiosks are outside.

I’m not really complaining because let’s be honest, as a food blogger in San Diego I’m pretty spoiled. But it was definitely a unique situation this time having to battle the elements to get these photos for you!

I started at the far end of the festivities in hope for some shelter. The Banh Mi sandwich from the Paradise Garden Grill looked promising so I figured I would start there. Despite the bread feeling crunchy on the outside when I cut it in half for Jarod and I to share it was surprisingly soft! Out of all the items we tried that day, this was probably one of my favorites.

Then the rain cleared up for a moment and we ventured over to the next kiosk The Lucky 8 Lantern. This is where you can find the Shrimp Fried Rice. Another great item and at $8 it’s an excellent use of your Sip & Savor Pass.

Prosperity Bao Buns is another kiosk worth visiting. Here you can find several items that are a must have. The Char Siu Pork Bao (Chinese BBQ Pork with Pickled Red Onions and Jalapeño), Mickey Chinese Hot Dog Bun, and the Winter Plum Blossom Gin Mule.

The hot dog bun is cute, but for some reason mine was cold and I felt like it was something that should have been warm. The winner at this kiosk was definitely the pork bao! Lots of savory BBQ flavor with a kick of spice.

To wrap things up we ended at the Red Dragon Spice Traders. There I found the Firecracker Three Cup Chicken with Steamed Rice and this adorable Mickey shaped Purple Yam Macaron with Crème Fraiche. It wasn’t too sweet, the macaroon was soft when biting into it, and the crème fraiche hidden in the middle was delicious!
