    Apple Cider Bourbon Cocktail

What says fall more than an Apple Cider Bourbon Cocktail? Perhaps you can think of a few different things, but these tasty beverages definitely top my list! Something about the sweet taste of apple with a hint of spice...and yes bourbon! I don’t know about you but when I was younger bourbon or any whiskey for that matter just did not appeal to my taste buds. But as I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to appreciate it more, especially when paired with something a bit sweet.

You will notice that with this recipe I serve it on ice instead of warm. This is mostly a personal preference due to San Diego not understanding seasons. As I write this it’s 95 degrees outside. Totally not hot alcoholic beverage weather if you ask me. But if you live in a colder climate you may want to try it warm! Just put the apple cider, cinnamon and honey in a small saucepan and warm it up for a few minutes on the stove before mixing it with bourbon. You may also want to use a few more ounces of the apple cider since some of it will evaporate when heated.

To take things to that perfect level of "extra" don't forget to garnish your drinks with a fresh slice of apple and a cinnamon stick. It doesn't take much time to add a little flair and it really brings everything together for a fun evening treat. In fact, I would suggest making these before you binge watch Stranger Things 2 on Netflix. I don't know about you but the fact that Season 2 of Stranger Things is back this weekend is reason enough to celebrate with a fall cocktail! You can even pair them with my chocolate chip cookie recipe for an extra special treat!

Either way, I hope you enjoy this flavorful seasonal cocktail, which just so happens to be the first cocktail recipe to ever make it to my blog. Don’t worry, it certainly won’t be my last. Cheers!
