Not sure where to brunch this weekend? Bier Garden in Encinitas has you covered! The weather here in San Diego is beautiful again and they have the perfect outdoor patio to enjoy it. They also have dinner and a wide assortment of beers on tap if you can't visit during brunch hours. Brunch is served Served Saturday & Sunday 10AM - 2PM so keep that in mind for your upcoming visit.

Keep in mind that this part of downtown Encinitas is busy on the weekends, especially if it's nice out. Bier Garden is conveniently located a few blocks from the beach so parking can be difficult. But once you find a spot it's nice to grab bunch and then go on a walk to the beach. That's exactly what we did and it was lovely!

To start our brunch off right we each ordered a cocktail. I went with the Hearty Bloody Mary which was highly recommended by our server. It has house infused bacon-cheddar vodka with garnishes of bacon, beef stick, cheddar cheese, pepperoncini and pearl onion.

Honestly this is one of the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had. It was perfectly spicy and I loved the garnishes that were a nice little snack before our meal. Plus it comes with a Beer chaser of your choice!

Jarod ordered his favorite, the Old Fashioned but with a brunch twist! This one had templeton rye whiskey, angostura bitters, maple bacon syrup and is garnished with candied bacon and a luxardo cherry. YUM!
Then it was time for what I like to call “The Main Event”. Jarod and I both had a difficult time deciding what to order because everything sounded so good. We decided the best option was to share two different ones.

First up we have the Chicken Chilaquiles. Living in San Diego I’ve had my fair share of good and bad chilaquiles and I’m happy to report these ones are GOOD. I went with the tomatillo style but you can also do ranchero if you prefer. It comes with two sunny side up eggs, crema, cotija cheese, pinto beans, pickled onion, cilantro, and shredded chicken. It was flavorful, the chips were crispy and not too soggy and the chicken was nice and tender. A dish I would be happy to order again!

Next we have the stunningly beautiful Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Waffle. They obviously love their Maple Bacon here at Bier Garden and I am with it 100%. As they say on their menu “The name says it all.” It also comes with butter and a decadent rum maple syrup.

To wrap up our meal we each ordered one more cocktail. Jarod chose the Blackberry Mash with Bulleit Bourbon, Creme de Cassis, honey, muddled blackberry, and lemon juice. I went with the Sandia’Rita which has Espolon Blanco Tequila, fresh watermelon, triple sec, agave nectar, and fresh lime juice. Both were lightly sweet and extra refreshing.

Thank you Bier Garden Encinitas for having us! We will definitely be back to try more of the menu in the future.
