Looking for a good place to celebrate #NationalGrilledCheeseDay in San Diego? My friends over at Grater Grilled Cheese in Mission Valley have you covered! They invited me and the rest of the local San Diego Zipkick family to a tasting on Sunday and it was amazing. They’re going to be hosting a BIG event on April 12th to celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day with prizes, music and of course...tasty grilled cheese sandwiches! Don’t miss out fellow cheese lover!

I personally tried the Avocado Grilled Cheese. I was pleasantly surprised that this sandwich was not heavy or greasy. A great lighter option. Jarod opted for the Lobster Grilled Cheese. Let's just say he inhaled this before I could even beg him for a bite so I can't speak personally on how it tasted but my guess is good enough to not share! Guess I’ll have to go back again soon to try it for myself.

Now if you know me, then you'll understand that I couldn't leave without trying their classic Pommes Frites. I love all things potato so I couldn't help myself. They came with 2 different aiolis for dipping and they were heavenly! I chose the Pale Ale Beer Chipotle Aioli and the Roasted Garlic Aioli. Both were delicious but I think the chipotle flavor was my favorite!

Other menu options to add to your National Grilled Cheese Day celebration include things like mac and cheese and desserts like the ice cream stuffed brioche buns. Yummy yummy!

So where are you going to celebrate? I'm always looking for new places to try! Big thanks to Grater Grilled Cheese, Zipkick and Forking In Public for the invite to this amazing cheese feast! I really enjoyed meeting so many foodies that I had been following on social media for some time now. San Diego has an amazing foodie community and I’m happy to be a part of it!
