Halloween Treats & Eats Guide For Disneyland 2017
Halloween has officially arrived at Disneyland this month and I’m excited to share with you some of the yummy Halloween treats I was able to try on my last trip. I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite times of the year to visit Disneyland is during Halloween. Everything is so fun and festive, with just the right touch of ‘spooky’ for those that have kids. Plus, the Nightmare Before Christmas takes over the Haunted Mansion for the next few months. Yay!
One of the best things about my last visit with my boyfriend Jarod, other than the food of course, was getting to check out all the new decorations they put up in Cars Land for what they are calling, Haul-O-Ween! Seriously...KUDOS to the Disney Imagineers who put this together. It really looks amazing!

Now, back to the food. We started our day with breakfast at Cafe Zucalo, followed by my first tasty treat that I picked up at Pooh Corner. This was a Minnie Mouse shaped Rice Krispie treat decked out like a Day of the Dead sugar skull. It was almost too cute to eat!
Next up we hopped on over to California Adventure to check out Haul-O-Ween, and of course find more Disneyland Halloween treats! We stopped by the Cove Bar, which has been a long time favorite of mine already. The wait time can be long at peak times, but it’s totally worth it.
There we ordered the “Ghost”-ly Pepper Nachos which were a bit on the spicy side, but I loved them! So beware if you don’t like spicy foods. My only gripe with these is that I felt like there could have been more steak. However the yummy cheese and tomatillo salsa were delicious regardless. We should have ordered two!
I also tried their specialty cocktail that is not listed on the menu. This particular adult beverage is called the Sea Witch. To be honest I forget everything that’s in it. I know it had Vodka, Chambord and Blue Curacao with a cherry stuffed lychee ‘eyeball’. Oh and did I mention it comes with a fun glow cube you can take home? As far as the flavor on this one I would have to say it tasted like purple….and by tasted like purple I mean grape koolaid. Either way it could be dangerous drinking too many of these because it doesn’t taste like alcohol!
After a trip to Toy Story’s Midway Mania we found ourselves on the other side of the pier near Paradise Garden Grill. They have a fun pop-up display for Pixar’s upcoming film CoCo. We discovered they also had tasty Mexican themed foodie treats. I couldn’t resist snacking on some Elotes and drinking a delicious Pineapple Agua Frescas. It may have been messy, but it was totally worth it!
Once we went on a few more rides it was off to find more treats. That’s when I encountered my first real disappointment of the day. I went to Schmoozies and waited in line for over ten minutes only to be told when I finally got to the register that they were sold out of the Mike Wazowski Monstermallow Donut. Sadness! Apparently if you want one of these you have to get one first thing in the morning or they sell out. I’ll be back for you donut!
Finally, to perk myself up after my sadness of missing out on such an adorable donut, we headed to Clarabelle’s where I was able to try the Spider Silk Ice Cream Sandwich. It wasn’t listed anywhere in the actual ice cream shop but I asked if they had any and they did! I was happy again. Food tends to have that effect on me. This Disneyland Halloween treat has 2 black macaroons with charcoal-tart cherry spun ice cream and was topped with popping candy (Pop Rocks anyone?) and raspberry sauce.
The second I picked up my order at the window several people instantly had to ask me what the heck I just ordered. It’s a conversation starter for sure! Although I prefer a traditional mint chocolate chip or cookie dough flavored ice cream, this was a fun treat that I really enjoyed. Unique flavors plus pop rocks?! Hello 1994! I totally felt like a kid again. Fair warning though, it might turn your teeth and tongue a bit purple but it easily rinses away with some water.
Well, there you have it folks! All the tasty treats and adventures from my trip to Disneyland this month. I’m looking forward to going back again soon (annual pass for the win!), and you can be certain I’ll have even more treats to tell you about.
Happy (early) Halloween everyone!
