It’s the most wonderful time of the year….at Disneyland! Holiday Treats have arrived for the 2017 season and I wish I had the opportunity to visit one more time before the season is over, because there wasn’t enough time in one day to enjoy everything. Jarod and I went on Black Friday hoping that everyone would be shopping, but with the beauty of online shopping these days, it appeared everyone had the same idea that we did. Fortunately we visit frequently enough that we have this down to a science and got to enjoy our favorite rides.
Something you should know about all of these holiday treats before we begin...they were all from California Adventure. As much as I love all of the rides at Disneyland, it seems that California Adventure is the real foodie paradise these days. Plus they serve alcohol, which is always a nice treat!
Speaking of alcohol, one of the tasty beverages you can try during the current Festival of Holidays, is the Frosty Frosé. This delicious libation can be found at the Twist On Tradition booth. It’s a Frozen Rosé, Blue Curaçao and White Cranberry Juice with a Mint Sprig. Yum! The downside...it comes with a $13 price tag. But if you’re looking for something refreshing to cool you down and give you a buzz. This is just the ticket!
One of my favorite treats I found this year isn’t quite Christmas themed, but it IS the cutest treat ever. A UNICORN macaron! I honestly found it tough to actually want to eat it but once I had a bite, it was too delicious not to eat!
You can find these lovely macarons at Kayla’s Cake Macarons cart. I had to try a few other flavors as well. The green one was mint chocolate chip and the purple was actually creamy caramel flavor. All three were soft, creamy and flavorful. The only disappointing thing? I didn’t buy more of them to take home!
Another Festival of Holidays winner was the Braised Pork Belly Adobo with Garlic Fried Rice. Some of the bites you can purchase at the carts seem to be fairly small portions for the price tag, but this dish was a decent size. The pork was flavorful and the fried rice made the perfect addition to each bite. Two thumbs up for this dish that can be found at the Blissfully Braised cart.
Do you ever order something at a restaurant just because you want to try and recreate it at home? That’s exactly why I ordered these Brussels Sprouts with Goat Cheese, Cranberries and Bacon. I love a good brussels sprouts recipe, but don’t branch out of my comfort zone too often when I make them at home. This dish was amazing, and let’s just say you will probably find a recipe for it on my blog very soon! Until then you can swoop these up at the Festive Holiday Extras cart.
Last up on my list is something you won’t find among the Festival of Holidays carts. This spectacular macaron ice cream sandwich can be found at Schmoozies in Hollywood Land. It’s called the Santa’s Mittens Macaron and it’s stuffed with a giant scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream. If you weren’t aware already, I LOVE chocolate mint ice cream, so this one was a must try. Plus it makes for a pretty cute photo op too!
I hope you enjoyed reading about my recent holiday treats at Disneyland adventure. Obviously I wasn’t able to review everything but I hope that if you make it there for the holidays you give a few of these a try for yourself.
Happy Holidays Everyone!
