You know what I love about pizza? Is that it can come in many forms. Some places are little hidden gems with unassuming store fronts and others are full fledged restaurants with a cocktail menu. Pizza Nova in Point Loma is the latter. It’s a beautiful restaurant in the most perfect location. If you want a view of the bay and boat docks with your wood-fired pizza, Pizza Nova is the place to be! I’m a sucker for a beautiful view with my meal. We do live in San Diego after all, it would be a shame not to enjoy it from time to time.

Now, I know you’re wondering…Natasha, if this place has a nice view do I need to pay an arm and a leg for parking? Absolutely not! They have a huge parking lot with plenty of spaces so it’s stress free when driving here. This whole experience has led me to incorporate a new feature on all of my restaurant reviews moving forward indicating ease of parking so you know what to expect if you’re going there.

Alright, on to the food! First off, we were greeted with complimentary garlic bread knots. These little fluffy pieces of dough are heavenly and I could have eaten the whole plate to myself but I was nice and shared with Jarod.

These went down nicely with a cocktail too. I chose their Mai Tai because I wanted the full vacation vibe while enjoying my view of the bay. I have to say, the drinks here are excellent! Not too much alcohol and not too little or as Goldilocks might say they’re “just right”.

Then we tried their Caesar salad. Jarod has been obsessed with Caesar salads since our first trip to Maui and has made it a goal to try almost all Caesar salads since then! I really enjoyed their dressing and it was a hearty serving for two people to share.

Last but not least, let's talk about their pizza. I loved the variety of toppings and combos they had to offer. I'm always indecisive because I want to try everything. With pizza I think it's best to try at least two different types to really get a feel for what they have to offer. We went with the Pepperoni White Pizza, which has Fresh garlic, alfredo sauce, pepperoni mozzarella, smoked provolone, ricotta and parmesan.

As well as the, Roasted Tomato, Arugula & Prosciutto, that has Fresh mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, shaved parmesan, arugula and lemon olive oil dressing and prosciutto parma. Both were packed with flavor, herbs, delicious sauce and toppings. I loved the ricotta on the pepperoni and the lemon olive oil added a great citrusy burst of flavor to the arugula.
It’s safe to say we almost completely devoured these between the two of us. My favorite was the Pepperoni White Pizza but then again I’m pretty partial to pepperoni in general. Their crust wasn’t to thick which I appreciate and was good enough to eat on its own.

Overall this was a great Sunday evening date night for Jarod and I! Will definitely be back again soon for the beautiful views and the tasty woodfired pizza.
