After opening their doors less than 2 months ago, Stella Jean’s Ice Cream shop has already become a popular University Heights destination. It’s located right next door to an already established gem, Pop Pie Co. which also happens to be their sister restaurant. The wall decor inside the shop mimics the same art style you can find on the outside of Pop Pie Co. Plus it makes for great Instagram friendly backdrops!

As soon as you arrive at Stella Jeans you’ll be greeted by one of their friendly staff members who will offer you a sample of one of their many unique ice cream flavors. I love that they use real spoons as tasters instead of plastic. It’s just one of the many ways Stella Jean’s is making sure they are as eco-friendly as possible.

They were kind enough to let me sample several different flavors and types. If you’re vegan or lactose intolerant don’t fret! They have 100% vegan flavors too. Honestly they were some of my favorites! The Pink Guava + Orange Juice Flavor was amazing, as was the Mango Sticky Rice. YES, mango sticky rice in ice cream form and it’s heavenly.

For the dairy lovers their latest collaboration with Trust Restaurant is an oatmeal raisin cookie flavor that’s a must try! It honestly tastes just like a cookie, only better because it’s ice cream!

Another made from scratch creation you have to taste when you’re there is the Earl Gray Citrus Tea Cake made with butterfly pea tea and blueberry sauce. They steep the actual tea in the milk they use for the ice cream. I love that every flavor that hits your mouth is the real deal. No artificial flavors here!

You can tell that every batch of ice cream is made with love and lots of creativity. It’s definitely the type of place that will keep you coming back for more. Especially with their seasonal and rotating flavors like Salty Caramel Corn (made with real corn) and Pumpkin Pie. Next time you’re in the area be sure to check them out, you won’t be disappointed!
