You guys! Spring is here, the sun has returned and beach days are a must in San Diego again. If you’re headed to the Mission Beach area I have the spot for you, Surfrider Pizza! Whether you want to grab a quick bite or catch up with friends on their upstairs patio, this place has you covered.
For me personally I chilled on the upstairs patio with my new foodie friend San Diego Food Girl. These glorious frosty cocktails were a must since it was a beautiful day!
We had been friends on social for awhile and this was our first time meeting in person. I think it’s safe to say we hit it off well and stayed here longer than we probably both planned. It’s nice to meet people who share the same interests and passions that you have. Outside of the blogging world I often feel like that crazy lady who brings her camera with her to a restaurant, but with friends like SDFG there is no judgement...only fun!
Anyways, back to the pizza! My favorite slice was the Dirty Dom. It has their exclusive white jalapeño “dirty” sauce, bacon, jalapeño, roma tomatoes, and fresh cilantro. Honestly this pizza was so good I brought home a giant one to share with Jarod. If you’re exhausted after a day playing at the beach just grab one of these pies to go!
Then I had to try their pepperoni. I know I have mentioned this on many occasions but for those of you that are new here I think it’s worth repeating. When I’m trying a pizza place for the first time I almost always order a slice of pepperoni. I think it’s a staple pizza that is my base judgement on whether or not a place is genuinely good. Surfrider Pizza passed the test! Nothing too fancy here, but it’s exactly what it needs to be.
